The Author

Dr. Richard Waldron

Richard Waldron is a licensed psychologist & psychiatric nurse practitioner in private practice in Northern New Jersey. He has worked with over 10,000 people over a 31-year career, including teaching, counseling, and advising individuals, couples, and families.

He holds a Ph.D. from Fordham University & master’s degrees from Columbia University Teachers College and Stony Brook University. He also received bachelor’s degrees from Felician and Gettysburg Colleges.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Richard started his career working in vocational rehabilitation for the Federation Employment and Guidance Service and the International Center for the Disabled. He served as the Clinical Director for the Van Ost Institute for Family Living before co-founding the Northern Valley Wellness Center. Richard was an adjunct professor at the College of Staten Island and Hunter College, both of the City University of New York. He has been in private practice since 1990 in Closter, New Jersey.
