WE, THE WORTHY CITIZENS

For this election season, here are Dr. Waldon’s declarations as a Worthy Citizen of The People.

  1. We, The People as Worthy Citizens, select those we want in office to work for us, not themselves.
  2. We, The People as Worthy Citizens, must pay attention, do our due diligence, know our candidates and their positions.
  3. We, The People as Worthy Citizens, must know our elected officials from school board members, county/parish/provincial executives, members of Parliament, Congressional House Representatives and Senators and finally chief Executives.
  4. We, The People as Worthy Citizens, must recognize, abide by, and respect our fellow Worthy Citizens whether we agree with their policy positions or political party.
  5. We, The People, as Worthy Citizens MUST VOTE! Sixty percent participation is unacceptable. Apathy is an abomination. Voting is the cornerstone of worthy democratic government, and our voices must be heard. To do so, we need to defend the right to vote and make it accessible to all in provinces and states.
  6. Finally, We The People as Worthy Citizens, demand and insist on civility, decorum, noble debate on issues, competency, and concerted action from the people we put in office. The American General George Patton coined the phrase “Lead, follow or get out of the way.” This is our order to our representatives.
